Our girls’ football team played in two league matches on Tuesday. They won 4-3 against Oakthorpe Primary and lost 5-3 to St Michael’s at Bowes Primary. Everyone played their best, well done girls!
6G’s assembly was all about Chinese New Year New Year which is currently being celebrated. This year is the year of the dog. They showed off their many talents including, dancing, music and singing. We hope the 6G parents enjoyed it!
2Y were joined by five Year 10 GCSE art students from Palmers Green High School. Year 2 have been learning about Florence Nightingale over the last half term. The girls taught the children how to make a lantern using oil pastels and black paper to represent the lamp that Florence Nightingale used to carry. The children were praised on their impeccable behaviour and great enthusiasm.
Year 5 were involved in the Mayor’s Award for Visual Arts and Miss Murphy from Year 1 coordinated the special project.
4G took us on a journey through the Tudor era. They told us all about King Henry VIII and his six wives and treated us to beautiful music and dance. Well done 4G.
The choir performed at the O2 together with 8,000 other children. They sung some of the 33 songs they had learnt at assembly on Thursday 1st February and really wowed everyone with the huge amount of words they had learnt. The singing was as fabulous as ever and we all really enjoyed their performance. We hope the parents enjoyed the concert too.
A massive “Well Done” to all the pupils who took part in ‘A Star is Born’ on the above 2 nights. The standard this year was phenomenal! Many thanks to all the staff who helped to organise this event. AUTUMN TERM 2017
The children thoroughly enjoyed their Christmas lunch on Tuesday 19th December. There were lots of clean plates!
The members of the choir from Years 5 & 6 visited the Dementia Cafe run by volunteers at the Parish Centre. The audience really enjoyed the carols and traditional Christmas songs the choir sang so beautifully! Thank you choir, we were very proud of your performance.
Year 2’s singing and acting was magnificent in their Christmas performance! What a treat, well done!

Well done to the Reception children who did a sterling job with their Christmas play this year. Having missed out on their dress rehearsal due to the snow day Monday, we were all really impressed with their performances. Well done!
Our Year 6 Netball team has made a fantastic start to the season. Despite having only trained together as a team for a few weeks, they won their first match in October against Garfield School 17-2. This was swiftly followed by a second match against OLOL, which they won quite convincingly 20-0.

3G proudly presented an assembly about self-belief and inspired us all to remember it is ‘good to be me’! It was a lovely message. We hope the 3G parents enjoyed it.
Our gymnastics teams were really busy this week performing at the Borough of Enfield Gymnastics Championship.
The West End came to Southgate when parents and pupils alike were amazed by 5G’s excellent acting of “Matilda the Musical.” Well done everyone!
