Year 6 retreat days

Led by our parish catechist Anna McMullan, our Year 6 children spent a day reflecting on leadership. There was a wide range of vocabulary and understanding of leadership – what makes a good leader (caring, respectful, thoughtful, reliable, responsible) and what makes a bad leader. Moving in to the church they were invited to stand beside an image or statue and come up with three aspects of leadership. Jesus was introduced as the ultimate leader through His servant leadership. , there were moments of encounter with Jesus for a number of the children … and the answers they were giving, Anna was impressed with how well they worked together in their house groups as they looked at a specific saint and then created a work of art & a prayer. They listened, shared tasks, encouraged and praised each other.
