We were treated to 2 wonderful evenings of entertainment from our Year 6 pupils! Costumes, singing, acting and dancing were all fantastic! We hope you take happy memories away with you as you leave us for Secondary School.
16 children attended an event at Raglan School to explain to Public Health Enfield about the benefits of The Daily Mile. They also played football with some Tottenham coaches, met an Olympian athlete and tried many other sports.
We have been very lucky this year – Gavin, an experienced coach, has worked with years 4, 5 and 6 over the last few months. The children have loved learning a new sport that require different skills. Lots of our children then went on to play and were very successful in Gaelic football tournaments in Greenford, home to the GAA.
We were very fortunate to have 7 professional coaches from Middlesex Cricket Club visit our school and train the pupils in Years 3 – 5. The children learnt cricket skills and thoroughly enjoyed the sessions. Let’s hope it will inspire them to play more cricket in the future!
Our Year 2 football team played in our annual ‘Catholic Cup’ match against Our Lady of Lourdes, Arnos Grove on Tuesday. We were delighted that they won a close game 3-2 (in extra-time!) and the cup has returned to our trophy collection. Well done to the team!
30 children were chosen to take part in an art workshop with ColourMeIn. The pupils from across the year groups really enjoyed their morning! Their work will be joined with art from the other schools in our Excellence in Learning Community (ELC) partnership. There will be a grand opening of all the art work at the Dugdale Centre in Enfield Town on Sunday 30th June at midday and the work will be on display until the following weekend. Try and go to see it if you can.
On Thursday Years 5 and 6 performed music compositions that they had been working on in class. Year 5’s work was based on “Mars” from the Planet Suite by Gustav Holst. They had also listened to “Clair de Lune” by Debussy and one group chose to show their work on that piece. Year 6 have been studying “In the Hall of the Mountain King” by Edvard Greig and had composed their own versions. It was lovely to hear their pieces and see how well they worked together in small groups.
On Thursday, 5Y celebrated National Lucky Penny Day in style – showing that ‘small things make a difference’. They reflected upon the charity and environmental work that we as a school have achieved this year.
A HUGE thank you for your support for Maths Day – we had some amazing costumes! A special thank you to Mr Corcoran (RY parent) and Ms Drozd (1G parent) who came in and spoke to the children at assembly about how they use maths in their jobs. They both gave very interesting talks.
Reception visited Willows Farm and they met cows, pigs, goats and many more farm animals. It was a fantastic day and the children were wonderful ambassadors for their school.
4G’s assembly was all about ‘The Rainforest’. They gave us lots of facts and information on this topic, their trip to Kew Gardens and the importance of looking after the rainforests by being more environmentally friendly in everyday life. Fantastic job 4G!!!!
Two children took part in an art workshop with lots of other schools in the ELC on Wednesday 19th June – see photo. All the art work will be on display at the Dugdale Centre, Enfield Town from 30th June to 6th July. Our second photo is one of our pupils visiting the exhibition at […]
