On Wednesday 24th May, children from Years 2 and 3 performed on the piano, guitar, violin and tin whistle to a captive audience of children and parents. The youngest performer was only 6 years old. Over forty children from Reception, Years 1, 2 and 3 sang and danced their way across the stage for our annual talent show “A Star is Born!” The children performed a dress rehearsal for the school in the morning and then again in the evening for their families. Patrick, Lilly & Ellie from London Sinfonietta came to work with the children in Class 6Y on Thursday. The composition challenge that was set will be carried on this half term with Ms Phillips with all the children in Year 6. You can view some of their work by clicking here.
The children from the choir and orchestra performed carols around the Christmas tree on Monday 19th December for all the families. It was a great occasion and really got us into the festive spirit! Children from Years 5 and 6 performed “One Night in Bethlehem” to all the children in school at a dress rehearsal and then later that day to all families in St Monica’s Church. The singing and orchestral performances were outstanding!
Children from Years 3 and 4 performed “The Mystic Nativity” as a dress rehearsal to the school and then later that day in the church for all their families. A link to the performance has been emailed to all parents.
Our music specialist Ms Phillips organised a Concert on the Feast of St Cecilia, Patron Saint of Music, on 22nd November. The choir and orchestra performed beautifully for the audience. Click here to see them in action.
On Wednesday 19th October, one third of the Year 4 year group entertained the school and their parents with a music concert. Performances were made on the piano, keyboard, cello, violin, recorder and guitar. Congratulations to the accomplished musicians!
