Fire engine comes to visit!

The Reception children had the opportunity to explore a fire engine on Tuesday 7th February as part of their “People who help us” topic. Year 3 children popped out to have a look too (as they missed their fire engine visit due to Covid when they were in Reception).

Cooking in Class 6G

Kirsty and Charlotte from HCL catering company are running a six week cookery course to teach healthy cooking to class 6G. Year 2 Great Fire of London Workshop

Desni from One Day Creative led a workshop about the Great Fire of London with Year 2. Using drama, the children explored different methods that could be used to put the fire out, did some mime and freeze frame and generally had a very enjoyable session.

6Y composing challenge

Patrick, Lilly & Ellie from London Sinfonietta came to work with the children in Class 6Y on Thursday. The composition challenge that was set will be carried on this half term with Ms Phillips with all the children in Year 6. You can view some of their work by clicking here.

Autumn Term 2022

Carols around the tree with choir and orchestra

The children from the choir and orchestra performed carols around the Christmas tree on Monday 19th December for all the families. It was a great occasion and really got us into the festive spirit! Once again thanks to Ms Phillips for her musical expertise! You can watch some clips of the afternoon here.

Orchestra recital December 15th

The orchestra, conducted by Lynne Baker from Enfield Music Service (EMS) and accompanied by Ms Phillips, performed for parents at an end of year recital. Watch it here.

Year 5 & 6 Carol Service – Thursday 15th December

Children from Years 5 and 6 performed “One Night in Bethlehem” to all the children in school at a dress rehearsal and then later that day to all families in St Monica’s Church. The singing and orchestral performances were outstanding!

Year 3 and 4 Christmas Carol Service

Children from Years 3 and 4 performed “The Mystic Nativity” as a dress rehearsal to the school and then later that day in the church for all their families. A link to the performance has been emailed to all parents.

Year 2 Christmas Play “I’m Gonna Shine”

Year 2 thoroughly entertained everyone with their production of “I’m gonna shine” on Thursday 15th December. It was a long journey for Mary and Joseph, the shepherds and the wise men, but they all found the destination of meeting Jesus worthwhile.

Year 1 nativity “The Inn-spectors”

On Tuesday 13th December the children from Year 1 performed their Christmas nativity play for their families. Every inn in Bethlehem was thoroughly inspected, but the perfect inn was found for Jesus to be born!
